Rangia is a land locked area and it the part of Kamrup Rural district. The population of this town is diverse. Majority of them are Hindus and Muslims. Among the Hindus, there are Brahmin, the Kalitas, the Baishyas, Deka and Nath. Muslims are there Khalifa and Mohammaden . 

Here are some of the major temples at Rangia

1. Shiv Mandir 

This Temple is located at about 200 metres from the Police station and at the bank of the Borolia River. 

2. Hanuman Mandir

It is just 100 metres north of the above Shiv mandir. It is one of the oldest temple of the town. The Marwaris are the regular devotees of this temple.
